Partnerships mean everything to us at Grange. Our 1,500 independent agent partners are the cornerstone of our business, serving as the critical link between our company and our policyholders as we journey on a path to success.

In mid-2005, we forged new partnerships and expanded our geographical footprint by entering a new market, South Carolina, where we currently offer Personal Auto, Life and Bank products under our Trustgard brand.

In 2006, we'll continue to look for opportunities to build new partnerships and expand our presence in the marketplace.

Agent Partners
At Grange, we're always striving to outpace our competition when it comes to providing EODB for our agent partners. Here's what a few agents had to say about the service Grange provides and our EODB philosophy:

Left to right: Terry Templin, Advantage 1 Insurance; Terry Kelso, Associated Insurance Agencies; Ken Beard, Lakeland Insurance Group; Joell Gerlando, Lakeside Insurance Agency
Terry Kelso, Associated Insurance Agencies, Westerville, Ohio: “Grange is the absolute master of Ease of Doing Business. Of all the companies we deal with, they are by far and away the easiest, and their systems are getting better every day.”

Terry Templin, Advantage 1 Insurance, St. Cloud, Minnesota, on The Academy at Grange's Commercial Producer Development Program: “I would highly endorse the program. As a life and health guy, I came in here very reserved in my expectation, hoping to learn something about the commercial trade. This training will open up tons of doors for me. It's by far the best training program I've ever attended. Very practical. Very hands-on.”

Ken Beard, Lakeland Insurance Group, Russell Springs, Kentucky, on the great service his Commercial Lines underwriter provides: “Grange is in the Commercial Lines Business. I feel very confident we can take our commercial lines to great heights with you.”

Joell Gerlando, Lakeside Insurance Agency, Clinton Township, Michigan, on GAINWeb® Life, "We have doubled our Life production as a result of the Ease of Doing Business with the GAINWeb Life system, and the EZQuote Life matrix on the Personal Lines GAINWeb system is also especially helpful. We now have a great opportunity to cross-sell Life insurance to our P&C clients."

Integrity Insurance
Since its inception in late 2001, our affiliation with Integrity Mutual Insurance Company has been a success.

In 2005, Integrity continued creating new partnerships by adding 39 new agency locations to its network, the most ever in a single year. The company also completed its Commercial Lines conversion, the final phase of the affiliation process. The conversion included transferring existing policies to a new system and offering Grange's Design Seriessm products, which are now automated for Integrity on GAINWeb. As Integrity automated its Commercial Lines products, agency use of automation continued to improve for its Personal Lines product set. By the end of 2005, agents were submitting 93 percent of new business and 67 percent of policy amendments online.

Like Grange, Integrity's Personal Lines Profit Center expanded its identity theft coverage with identity theft restoration services, which were well received by its agency force. The company's new Personal Lines products were particularly successful in Minnesota, where new business was 260 percent higher than 2004 and total written premium was 170 percent higher than 2004. Integrity agents also started participating in the Grange Life Property Casualty Cross-selling Program, which offers tailored Life products to specific auto and homeowners policyholders.

2005 marked the first time Integrity was recognized for excellence in technology. Thanks in part to its affiliation with Grange, Integrity received an MI-Assistant Carrier Pioneer Award for supporting agency-centered workflow that offers complete integrated report ordering and bridging capabilities that eliminate the need for duplicate entry.

In 2006, Integrity will continue to achieve success by identifying additional integration opportunities with Grange, expanding its agency representation and growing its business.

Massengill, Black Recognized for Strengthening Partnerships
Company representatives are an important part of the Grange company-agent relationship. These associates work with agents on a day-to-day basis to help them write more business with us and increase their profitability.

In 2005, two Grange associates were recognized for going the extra mile to ensure success for our agents. Middle Tennessee Senior Territory Manager Dyson Massengill was named the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents' (PIA) National Company Representative of the Year, and Ohio Commercial Lines Underwriter Patty Black was awarded a PIA of Ohio Presidential Citation for Commercial Lines Underwriting.

“Dyson Massengill is dedicated to helping the agencies he serves,” said PIA National President-elect Ray Peretti. “He consistently wins high praise from the agencies he serves for working in partnership with them to develop, implement and monitor action plans designed to increase profitability.”

With partners like Dyson and Patty, our agents are sure to win with Grange.
