OnTrack Mobile Application Privacy Policy

The Grange Enterprise (Grange Insurance Co., Grange Property & Casualty Insurance Company, Grange Indemnity Insurance Company, Grange Insurance Company of Michigan, Trustgard Insurance Co., Integrity Insurance Co., Integrity P & C Insurance Co., and Integrity Select Insurance Co., collectively with its subsidiaries and affiliates, “the Company,” “we,” “us,” and “our, “Grange”) understands that the protection and use of the information you provide to OnTrack through its mobile application is important. We are committed to maintaining your privacy and developing technology that gives you a safe experience.
This OnTrack Mobile Application Privacy Policy (“Policy”) sets out our information collection, use and dissemination practices for our UBI OnTrack mobile application (the “App”). The Policy applies only to the App. Please read this Privacy Policy to understand the information Grange collects about you through our App and how we use it and protect it. The Policy does not apply to your insurance policy or related accounts. Our standard privacy notice describes our general collection, sharing and use practices for personal information related to our policy holders. By using our App, and continuing use of our App, you are accepting all practices and terms and conditions described in this Policy and consent to the collection and processing of your information as described in this Policy.
Information Collected.
Personal information is that data that can be used to individually identify you from other users or customers (“Personal Information”). You may provide Grange Personal Information directly or it could be collected through the App.
Information you give us. You may provide Grange with Personal Information directly through the App, which may include your first and last name, any work or mailing address, your date of birth, telephone or mobile device number or email address.
Information collected through the App. In addition to the information that you may provide us, we may also collect information about you during your use of the App. We collect this information using automated technology. This technology may collect information about your behavior and your device, such as your internet address (IP Address), the screens you have viewed, and the actions you have taken while using the App.
The App may also collect other information that is not Personal Information in the form of driving metrics and analytics (“Driving Data”) from your mobile device Driving Data includes, but is not limited to car speed and location using GPS technology, time information and sensor data. The App uses sensors to collect motion data to detect when you start driving and to assess distracted driving. The motion and activity data collected includes driving behaviors such as swiping and typing, handheld calls, hands free calls as well as frequent starting and ending points. The App is intended to collect your Driving Data but may also collect the driving information of third parties with whom you are a passenger. No Company records will be created that identify any such third parties in the car. The App will also not record with whom you are communicating via your mobile device or the content of communications.
The App may also collect and use technical data and related information, including but not limited to, technical information about the device running the App, system and application software, and peripherals that are gathered periodically to facilitate the provision of software updates, product support and other services to you related to our App.
Information use, sharing and retention.
In accordance with our Terms of Use and your insurance policy, the information collected by the App will be used with other data to help us determine the rate of insurance you will pay on your policy renewal and other discounts. Any such information use shall be used in accordance with your policy’s terms and conditions and our Terms of Use. The data collected may also be used by us and our contracted third parties for research and analytical purposes. Driving Data collected from the App will be retained on your mobile device and used by contracted third parties to provide the services promised. Data is transmitted using either Wi-Fi or the customers data plan, depending on which network is available at the time of upload. The app is expected to use between 30-60 MB per month. We will retain your Personal Information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy unless otherwise required or permitted by law.
The App integrates third party analytics in order to facilitate and improve the functioning of the App, including performing statistical analysis of performance or information collected from registered devices, such as analysis on sensor data and device status. We also may share anonymous, aggregated statistics about your use of our App with other companies. We may share your aggregated information with third parties to provide OnTrack services to you and for aggregation and analytical purposes and premium calculation by Grange or its affiliates.
We will not sell OnTrack data with your Personal Information or use it in an insurance claim without your permission. We will not share OnTrack data with your Personal Information with any third parties unless it is necessary to service your policy, detect or prevent fraud, perform research or comply with the law. Additionally, any data collected by the App will not be used to cancel, non-renew or surcharge your policy.
Except as described in this Policy, we will not share your information with third parties without your notice and consent, unless it is under one of the following circumstances:
- Responding to duly authorized information requests from law enforcement or other governmental authorities.
- Complying with any law, regulations, subpoena, or court order.
- Investigating and helping prevent security threats, fraud, or other malicious activity.
- Enforcing or protecting the rights and properties of Grange or its subsidiaries.
- Protecting the rights or personal safety of our employees.
There are circumstances where Grange may decide to buy, sell, or reorganize its business in selected countries. Under these circumstances, it may be necessary to share or receive Personal Information with prospective or actual partners or affiliates. In such circumstances, Grange will ensure your information is used in accordance with this Policy.
Accuracy and Access to Your Personal Information.
We strive to maintain and process your information accurately. We have processes in place to maintain all of our information in accordance with relevant data governance frameworks and legal requirements. We employ technologies designed to help us maintain information accuracy on input and processing. Consent to Receive Text Messages from Grange Insurance.
By enrolling in Grange Insurance OnTrack UBI and providing a mobile device number(s) to Grange Insurance and its affiliates, you consent to receive text messages from Grange Insurance and its affiliates in order to authenticate your device or identity, keep you informed of developments with your policy, provide news on new products and services, and to participate in OnTrack generally. You also consent to receive phone calls or pre-recorded messages, including those from automated dialing systems at the mobile device number you provide. You consent to the use of your mobile device number(s) by Grange Insurance and its affiliates in accordance with this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. You agree you have the authority and permission to consent to receive such text messages for all mobile device numbers associated with your Grange Insurance Policy. You further acknowledge that no purchase is required to opt into this messaging service, and you may opt out at any time by following instructions from Grange and its affiliates in any message you receive and as described in the Privacy Policy.

Third Party Websites, Applications or Services.
This Policy does not apply to websites, applications, or other domains that are maintained or operated by third parties or our affiliates. The App may link to such third party websites and services, but these links are not Grange endorsements of these applications or sites, or any services offered. Because this Policy is not enforced on these third party websites or applications, we encourage you to read any posted privacy policy of the third party website or service before providing any information.
United States Use Only.
This App is not intended for use outside the United States. We do not warrant or represent this Policy complies with the requirements of any jurisdiction outside the United States. Furthermore, to provide you with our services, we may store, process, and transmit information in the United States and other locations around the world, including countries that may not have the same privacy and security laws as yours. Regardless of the country in which such information is stored, we will process your Personal Information in accordance with this Policy.
Safeguarding the Information We Collect.
We take reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards in order to protect your Personal Information against accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, we can never promise 100% security. If you feel your Personal Information has been compromised in any way, please report it to us immediately.
Changes to this Policy.
We may modify or amend this Policy at any time. Changes to this Policy will be effective as of the “Last Revised” date at the top of this Policy and/or otherwise when communicated to you. If we make any material changes to our Policy, those changes will apply to the Personal Information collected after the effective date listed on the Policy. Your use or continued use of the App after any changes to this Policy are posted will be considered acceptance of those changes.
