Support for Indiana customers affected by recent storms, tornadoes

Posted on August 31, 2016

Due to severe weather in Indiana, the Indiana Department of Insurance (DOI) has issued Bulletin No. 233, requesting insurance carriers to give policyholders who were directly impacted by recent storms and tornadoes—occurring during the period of August 15-22, 2016—up to 60 days to pay insurance premiums before cancelling or nonrenewing their policies for non-payment of premium. Currently, this impacts policyholders in the following counties: Allen, Howard, Miami, Montgomery and St. Joseph.

Grange has taken the following steps to ensure these policyholders do not suffer any further hardship:

  • Suspended policy cancellations through October 13, 2016
  • Suspended non-renewal notices through October 13, 2016

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please contact Grange Insurance at 800-422-0550.

Please note that Grange Life processing will continue as usual, including billing and lapse notifications. Policyholders in the impacted counties may choose to respond immediately to these notifications if they wish. Their coverage will be honored through October 13, 2016 (or later depending on the policy’s status). Please direct any questions to Grange Life at (800) 399-3797.
