Posted on June 13, 2016

Grange Insurance was recognized with the Leadership Giving award at the United Way of Central Ohio’s Celebration of Excellence awards luncheon on May 5 at The Ohio Union at The Ohio State University. The Leadership Giving award honors an organization with strong CEO and management support in addition to increased numbers of leadership givers and affinity group members. Leadership givers are leaders within a company who support the United Way campaign with pledges and donations. Affinity groups are linked by a common interest or purpose. Grange associates and leadership are a part of eight different affinity groups.

“Grange has a strong history of partnership and support for the United Way of Central Ohio,” said CEO John Ammendola. “We’re honored to have received the Leadership Giving award and will continue to support United Way through our annual giving campaign and year-round fundraising activities and volunteerism.”

In 2015, Grange raised $662,000 for United Way of Central Ohio, including associate pledges, company match and special event money raised. Each year, Grange holds a United Way campaign including Friday Fun Day, a silent auction, cornhole and 50/50 raffle. Grange also holds numerous events throughout the year including a LifeCare Alliance pie sale, Dine & Donate, Club 671 with the Jazz Arts Group, kickball, a Yankee Candle sale and a retiree campaign. Grange associates participate in the United Way of Central Ohio Volunteer Challenge Week, deliver meals three times a week with LifeCare Alliance Meals on Wheels and volunteer with United Way agencies throughout the year.
