Support for Illinois customers affected by recent flooding

Posted on July 20, 2017

Due to severe flooding in Illinois, the Illinois Department of Insurance (DOI) has issued Company Bulletin 2017-03. This bulletin requests that insurance carriers issue a 60-day moratorium for the cancellation or nonrenewal of any insurance policy for customers affected by the severe weather. The moratorium will be applied retroactively to July 12, 2017, and will run through Sept. 30, 2017.

In addition, we'll be granting a 60-day extension for policy provisions and other time-based requirements in the affected counties. This includes submission of claim or proof of loss. We'll also be extending the amount of time required to complete repairs on the affected policy by 60 days.

Currently, this impacts policyholders in the following counties: Cook, Kane, Lake and McHenry.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please contact Grange Insurance at 1-800-422-0550.
