Posted on February 02, 2018

Grange Insurance has been honored with the 2018 Medical Mutual Pillar Award for Community Service, presented by Smart Business magazine. Grange was one of just 10 organizations to receive the Pillar Award, which honors businesses of all types and sizes that make outstanding contributions to their community.

Grange Insurance President & CEO John Ammendola accepted the award on behalf of our associates during an award ceremony at the Ohio Statehouse on January 25.

Grange Insurance is known for its multi-faceted community relations program that includes financial support, in-kind donations, nonprofit event space donation and volunteerism. Grange supported more than 60 community organizations in 2017 with approximately $684,000 in donations. Its associates volunteered more than 6,400 hours in addition to adopting Fairwood Alternative Elementary School of Columbus City Schools, teaching Junior Achievement programs, delivering Meals-on-Wheels and other nonprofit projects.

The Medical Mutual Pillar Award for Community Service encourages organizations to create a charitable environment, and recognizes efforts that make a difference and demonstrate the ties between the for-profit and nonprofit worlds.
