Grange Insurance has been recognized by Columbus Business First as a 2017 Healthiest Employer of Central Ohio. In an award presentation on March 7, Grange was recognized for placing 8th in the large company category, moving up three spots from 2016.

“We’re excited to be recognized by Columbus Business First as one of the healthiest employers in Central Ohio for the fourth straight year,” said Doreen DeLaney Crawley, EVP, chief operations officer. “We are proud of our comprehensive wellness program and continually look for ways to expand upon it in order to attract and retain the best associates.”

Grange Insurance has a very generous paid time off and work flex policy, allowing associates to balance personal and professional demands. This generous policy works in conjunction with the Grange ambassador volunteer program, which gives associates additional paid time off for participating in community service and donating blood.

Wellness programs include a free fitness center, free fitness classes and free consultations with an onsite dietician, nurse and fitness trainer. Grange also brings in a massage therapist and reflexologist weekly. The company additionally offers financial planning and weight loss and diabetes prevention classes as part of their total wellness program.

Grange’s competitive benefits include a choice of two consumer-driven health plans with a health savings account, which is partially funded by the company for participation in various wellness activities. In addition, Grange offers an adoption reimbursement program and a company-funded Employee Assistance Program, available 24 hours a day.

Associate engagement activities include its annual volleyball and cornhole tournaments and a rooftop Red, White & Boom party.

The Healthiest Employers award program recognizes organizations that are committed to creating a healthy workplace. Using an online assessment, the award measures wellness programming in six categories: leadership commitment, communication and marketing, foundational components, programming and interventions, strategic planning and reporting and analysis.
