Support for Indiana customers affected by recent flooding

Posted on March 07, 2018

Due to severe weather in Indiana, the Indiana Department of Insurance (DOI) has issued Bulletin No. 241, requesting insurance carriers to give policyholders who were directly impacted by recent flooding — occurring during the period of February 15, 2018 to February 25, 2018 — up to 60 days to pay insurance premiums before cancelling or nonrenewing their policies for non-payment of premium.

Currently, this impacts policyholders in the following counties: Benton, Carroll, Clark, Crawford, Dearborn, Elkhart, Floyd, Fulton, Harrison, Jasper, Jefferson, Lake, Marshall, Ohio, Perry, Pulaski, Spencer, St. Joseph, Starke, Switzerland, Warrick and White.

This moratorium is not a waiver of payments due during the moratorium period, but only an extension of the period in which to pay the premium. Policies may be cancelled or nonrenewed due to any other allowable reason during the moratorium period.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please contact Grange Insurance at 1-800-422-0550.
