Support for Georgia Customers Impacted by Hurricanes

Posted on October 15, 2024

Update: The Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Fire Safety issued Directive 24-EX-9 as an update to the previous Directive 24-EX-6 from October 1, 2024 and Directive 24-EX-8 from October 16, 2024. The original directive had prohibited insurance companies from canceling policies in certain counties to aid recovery efforts, ensuring that policyholders wouldn’t lose coverage due to non-payment. Effective as of October 31, 2024, this prohibition on policy cancellation will be lifted in all counties.
