Contacting a live person
Have been trying to reach someone from corporate office for over an hour. My agent stated they have not dealt with grange in several years, but is still listed on my policy. Have not received any updated policy information and mines expired in January.

Cancelled insurance after 1 claim
Had grange for 3 years. Had to make 1 claim for roof damage due to storm. Notified that they won't renew my insurance, due to making 1 claim. What's the point in insurance if you can't use it when you need it. Scam company. Stay away.

Roadside assistance
In February of 2025 during the cold snap we found ourselves with a running vehicle and locked doors. I remembered we had roadside on our policy, so we called for the first time for this type of situation. We explained the auto was running, which auto it was and our info. They gave us the name of the company and someone could be there in about two hours. The weather was bad so we did expect some type of wait. So we waited, and waited and waited. Nobody every showed up so we called the co. and they stated, "oh the weather is too bad so we will not be coming." Funny how we had to call them to find out no one was coming to help. So we called roadside back, they said they will send another company. After we hung up, the vehicle had been running for three hours. We did call another company not thru roadside. When our contacted driver showed up in 20 minutes, we called roadside back to have them cancel the second company. I turned in my claim as I always have and didn't hear for almost a month, so I reached out. I received a letter in the mail stating we did not use roadside. Yes, we did. When I sent an email for clarification, I again received a letter in the mail stating that the vehicle in question does not have roadside on it, but our other two vehicles do. Total oversite on my part but now comes the question, doesn't roadside assistance have access to my policy when I call them.? My agent told me yes they do. So why did roadside not tell me upfront that the vehicle was not covered? Roadside gave me stress and a car left running for three hours. Had I known in the moment we would have called the responding company immediately and been on our way. I cancelled my roadside assistance off my other two vehicles and will not recommend that service. Grange and my agent have been an awesome choice for us and has always responded quickly and accurately. Great customer service!! Very happy overall. I am just not quite sure why the roadside assistance fell so short of good service.

Terrible company - steer clear
Grange claims to make the process easier by partnering with contractors. They say that if you use one of their contractors, then you don't have to worry about the cost and the contractor's work is supposedly under warranty. The contractor ruined our floors and refused to fulfill the warranty. And Grange refuses to investigate the damage caused by their partner, denying us a claim.

Terrible customer service, doesn't care about peop
I was hit by a grange customer and they are totaling my vehicle with the repair value being at 50% of the market value. They hung up on me when I was initially trying to get call back information and they have been difficult for my collision center to reach. They are offering me a payout of 2/3 the amount it would take to buy a new to me same year/make/model/mileage vehicle. It is absolutely disgusting that they offer poor communication and are taking advantage of innocent people. This was a parking lot incident.

Claims Service
My husband was hit by an Grange Mutual insurance holder. It has been 3 1/2 weeks and the adjuster has never contacted him. We just recently received an email that it was a total loss and that they were sending someone to pick it up. The vehicle they said they are picking up is the wrong vehicle that was involved in the accident.

Ease of claim not timely and misleading
Grange life insurance is something I would not recommend to anyone who is mourning a loss of a loved one. A claim was submitted and acknowledged by the company. But when it came time to pay they sent a check, so they say that has yet to arrive and it's been over 16 days. This is embarrassing on top of my grief. I spoke to two reps & both stated. " Any day now". What mail takes over 16 days from Columbus Ohio to Pittsburgh PA.?

Exorbitant pricing - way outside industry averages
Another car insurance renewal, another increase. Over $200 increase in one year. Shopping around found EXACT same coverage for my 6 month policy at $697 less. Agent had no answer for your increase. Never again Grange.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
My claims experience with Grange has been nothing short of a nightmare. I was rear ended with my two babies in the car by a Grange insured. They assured they would help me get my claim paid for and make me whole again. My claims adjuster Brandon is refusing to pay necessary costs to restore me to where I was prior. I have called multiple body shops around my city to find out what is industry standard for recalibration of my car and they are paying less than 50% of what is needed. I am a struggling mom who cannot afford to get my car back because they are making me pay out of pocket costs and will not restore me back to industry standards. I have called and called my adjuster and he has not helped me at all. He keeps saying there is nothing he can do when I know this is not that case, having working for an insurance company in the past. I have no business paying out of pocket for something that is not my fault. This has been a horrible experience. I would hope no other person has to work with a company so terrible ever again.

Blamed wrong twice, have proof, was told to eat it
2 things! One) Grange was my insurance for 7 yrs. Yes I had claims. There was 2 claims were my fault but 1 I was involved in. Got blame for the one I was involved in. I have video proof showing I stopped in time & was rear end only damaged therefore not my fault but was blamed/put on record. Second) My spouse had a wreck and the other spouse was blamed. When called to have this corrected, I was basically told to eat it and was dropped. Mind you teenager had Grange for 7 yrs, spouses had Grange over 10 yrs!

pls pls pls i repeat this is The worst insurance company to work with. if your looking for home owner insurance i suggest u look else where and i would go without before i recommend anyone from this company to assist with any claims. all the way down to the investigator who was very rude when addressing the following claim. lied and stated to me he didn’t have the following documents that they was requesting but when i spoke to the thirparty company mitigation they advised he did in fact confirm with them on the phone they received the following documents that he stated to me he didn’t have. then the actual adjuster on the claim telling the third party to make sure the property is occupied. the professionalism is horrible and the disrespect not to mention they telling third parties to send and look through my home is completely unexceptionable. pls do not waste ur time or money because they will do everything in they power not to process and complete the claim.

Would Not Recommend
I got insurance auto and renters insurance with Grange in December of 2024 after moving out from Arizona. I paid the entire year for the renters insurance and the entire 6 months for the auto.
They cancelled me claiming I never provided a prior Insurance Declaration Page. That's a lie. They printed the letter on January 18th, stated the cancellation date is February 2, 2025 and I didn't get the letter in the mail until February 5, 2025.
I get we're all having a grand time in Washington right now with 19 year old kids dismantling the government and digging into everyone's personal information and bank accounts but that doesn't mean this company has to jump on the band wagon. How about a little adult professional behavior. The phone number for customer care does not provide any opportunity to ask questions or to talk to a live person.
